MIAMI, FL<\/strong> \u2013 The atmosphere was electric at the Miami Open’s inaugural Publix Padel Cup<\/strong>, a landmark event that brought high-level padel to one of tennis’s most prestigious venues for the very first time. Made possible through the dynamic partnership of World Padel Rating (RedPADEL)<\/strong> and IMG<\/strong>, the Publix Padel Cup represents a defining moment in the rapid expansion of padel in the U.S.<\/p>\n

Taking place alongside the Miami Open at Hard Rock Stadium<\/strong>, the tournament offered a unique experience where fans discovered padel up close, many for the first time. With a glass-walled court on-site and crowds gathering throughout the weekend, the energy was undeniable.<\/p>\n

The Publix Padel Cup served as the final stop of the WPR USPA circuit, showcasing the top players who qualified through a series of three national events. Championship matches did not disappoint:<\/p>\n

In the Open Division 1 final, Juan Manuel Vasquez & Jose Carlos Gaspar Campos<\/strong> clinched the title with a 6-2, 7-6 victory over Rodrigo Coello & Vinny Di Francesco<\/strong>. On the women’s side, Brittany Dubins & Laura Luj\u00e1n<\/strong> delivered a dominant performance, defeating Luicelena Perez & Anna Cortiles<\/strong> 6-3, 6-1.<\/p>\n

Top American-born player Nico Agritelley<\/strong> summed it up best: “It was a unique and special thrill to compete in front of tennis fans at one of the biggest tennis venues in the world.”<\/p>\n

Beyond the thrilling competition, the event signalled a breakthrough moment for padel’s visibility in the U.S. With Premier Padel hosting its first U.S. P1 event just days earlier and RacquetX gathering the industry under one roof, the Publix Padel Cup was the perfect finale to an unforgettable stretch for the sport.<\/p>\n
